Take off and Landing

It is smart to get used to taking off and landing with control. Taking off does not need full power. Just spin it up until the skids come off of the ground. Hold it for a moment, then gradually lower the left stick so the helicopter slowly and smoothly settles back onto the ground.

Remember to use right aileron (right control stick right) to prevent the helicopter from drifting to the left.

While it is in the air you will need to use the stick movements you used in the floor exercise to keep it in one place. You also need to keep the tail pointing at you. If you just hold it in the air briefly, then land softly and with control you will start to understand how to co-ordinate the controls.
